The Foreground Action Team |
|
Foreground Action was set up by Mike Loades, Gordon Summers, Dr Tobias Capwell and John Thompson. All are expert riders, archers and swordsmen and experienced in creating action scenes for the camera. Until recently they competed as the “Freelance” jousting team and won several major tournaments. Dr Capwell is curator of arms and armour at The Wallace Collection in London and a respected scholar in his field.

From his many years teaching in Drama Schools, Mike has a network of actors and actresses who can fight with all manner of weapons in a variety of period styles. Many can also ride, shoot a bow and load and shoot a musket. The gallery below shows the core team, who have worked with us on a host of productions. There are others but here is the cream of the crop.

As well as fighting actors we have close connections with re-enactment groups of all periods and know the individuals in those groups who are a cut above the rest. We blend the best in with our Foreground Action sequences and wrangle the background to keep the frame looking full and busy.
